Senior's Yoga Teacher Training
Senior's Yoga Teacher Training
Welcome to the North Carolina School of Yoga's Senior Yoga Teacher Training Course. More and more seniors are interested in learning about and attending yoga classes. Since yoga can be adapted to all ages, lifestyles and abilities it is a perfect practice for those who are aging and wish to keep the body fit and the mind calm and relaxed. As the popularity of yoga grows, even doctors are now recommending senior populations incorporate yoga into their health lifestyle. Yoga can help one sleep better, reduce anxiety, prevent injury, reduce or eliminate disease and stabilize emotions. This specialized training is designed for yoga teachers who wish to learn practices and techniques for working with older populations. You will learn how to create classes for seniors, including chair and floor yoga sequences, appropriate breathing and visualization practices for seniors, the anatomy and physiology of aging and modifications for aging bodies and minds. Selecting a yoga class is often difficult for seniors as most teachers are not properly trained in working with older populations. This training covers the chronic conditions many seniors face and students will leave with a broad understanding of how to work with this specialized segment of yoga enthusiasts. Yoga is for everyone, at any age. Hatha yoga is wonderful preventive medicine and with the increase of circulation and oxygen intake comes an increase of health. With improved health comes improved energy and greater enthusiasm and positivity in all aspects of ones life. |
