Welcome to the North Carolina School of Yoga Advanced Studies Program. This course is designed for anyone who wishes to study traditional, classical Yoga. Our advanced studies course is an intensive program for students who wish to make Yoga an integral part of daily life. This program is for deep Yoga immersion, study and transformation with a community of other committed students under the guidance and love of Chandra Om. Students will experience Yoga as it relates to their relationships, life choices, work, and lifestyle and will grow in their Yoga practice, teaching skills and Self understanding. Self inquiry frees one from the unceasing fear and turmoil resulting from taking the ego to be real. By becoming free of the ego illusion one experiences true freedom and supreme peace. It is this path that takes one from the apparent duality of the individual in the world to the bliss of one's true nature. This is the essence of the science of Yoga.
This is a deeply comprehensive, classical training program and we will study all traditional components of Yoga including Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathings), Meditation, Purification, Scriptural Study, Yogic Nutrition, Mantra and above all, Yama & Niyama, without which, there will be no success in Yoga. Each weekend will build upon the previous and because of the small number of accepted students (maximum 15 every two years), there will be ample opportunity to explore the deepest spiritual content to the questions you face with the intensification of your tapas (heat) and abhyasa-vairagya (disciplined practice).

In this soul stirring Yoga development course, the true purpose of Yoga is revealed to all participants. The purification of character and conduct, the cleansing of one’s physical and mental nature, wherein the highest state of reality and truth may shine undiminished in the hearts and minds of all participants. The Universal principles of Spiritual disciplines can elevate the seeker into God communion for all eternity. This is the Goal of Yoga. Reduce your needs and wants. Lead a happy and contented life. Never hurt the feelings of others. Be kind to all. Think of God as soon as you get up in the morning and all day long.
Transform your entire life as you gain insight into your own habitual behaviors and learn to purify them. This awareness is a vital component in developing the skills necessary to affect the reunion of the soul with the universal Spirit. Through meditation, deep introspection and intense Yoga purification, students will discover the inmost Self, identical in all beings. Each student is prescribed spiritual programs that will completely charge and change their life to become a more calm and content person. The results are miraculous and the essence of these ancient teaching come to life for each individual to use in this world of constant distractions. The curriculum is designed from years of practices Chandra personally did during her own study.
We are extremely honored to offer this truly comprehensive Yoga training program to the public. The authentic and pure teachings of Classical Yoga, Meditation and Purification that serves as a stairway to bliss, promoting harmony within all layers of the body, mind and soul so an integrated state of radiant health is achieved.
