Yoga for Labor and the First Six Weeks

Yoga for labor and the first six weeks is a wonderful and beneficial workshop for pregnant mothers and their partners to prepare them for the transformational process of birth, whatever their plans for the birth may be. Using the practices of the Science of Yoga during birth greatly help in keeping mother and partner calm and concentrated and help Mom to trust her own intuition as her body goes through the changes of dilation, contractions and birth of the baby. Yoga is also very beneficial in the recovery period postnatal helping mom in dealing with muscle tension, lack of sleep, feelings of being overwhelmed and bringing her body back into balance. We will cover basic asana (postures) breathings, meditations and comfort measures for before, during and after the birth. The Holy Science of Yoga is a powerful tool for personal and spiritual transformation and can help to make the birth of a child a beautiful transition for all involved.

A kirtan is a spiritual gathering in which sacred mantras are chanted for the purpose of elevating the aspirant's consciousness closer to our true nature, pure bliss. Chanting mantra moves one beyond the mind and body, beyond thought, and into the Self. The miraculous effects cannot be explained in words, only experienced. No musical background is necessary. The real practice of chanting mantra comes from offering whatever you have in your heart in devotion to God.

2-hour Restorative Class with Leslie

Restorative is a gentle, relaxing practice ideal for those recovering from injury or illness, those seeking stress reduction, or anyone who simply wishes to renew the mind, body and spirit. Restorative yoga also compliments an active practice. You will learn how to incorporate props such as blankets, bolsters, and blocks. We will use the breath to assist you in restoring and surrendering in the asanas. This class will enhance any type of class you attend. All levels are welcome.

Advanced Prenatal Yoga Workshop for Teachers
10:00am - 5:00pm

For students who have attended the Prenatal Teacher Training and would like to review pertinent information in guiding mothers through pregnancy. Included in the workshop will be effective techniques for the relief of pubic symphysis syndrome, breech or transverse babies, SI joint dysfunction, weak or imbalanced pelvic floor. Techniques for labor including Meditation, Pranayama, Mantra will also be covered. There will be time to address questions and concerns about working with this special population.
